Paul Sandburg, MBA, CSCS
Hello and welcome! My name is Paul Sandburg, the Founder and Director of BOOST Health. I am a long-time student of wellness and fitness and have been working in the industry for over 20 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Human Biology, master's degree in Business Administration, and am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). My interest in wellness and fitness initially began in watching my dad exercise and I joined him as soon as I was able. I always played sports and was intrigued in how conditioning and strength training could improve performance, even at a young age. Through the years my parents and coaches were excellent health and fitness mentors and this helped shape my love for overall wellness. I was consistent with strength training and conditioning through high school and into university. While studying human biology at the University of Kansas I developed an interest in helping others achieve fitness goals and became certified as a personal trainer. I really enjoyed sharing knowledge and motivating individuals to realize their potential. After finishing my bachelor's degree I began work in wellness program management for several biotech companies in California. I really enjoyed being able to continue to work with folks on their individual wellness goals while also being able to implement strategies that had a positive impact on the aggregate wellness of the organizations. Shortly after moving to California for work my dad, and my biggest mentor, passed away after battling cancer at only 51 years old. I was absolutely devastated. He was such a healthy man! This tragedy sparked even more zeal for me to seek out wellness balance for myself and those I worked with. You can read more about this in my blog post on this. Later I moved into several different population health management roles where I was able to help identify health risk factors in major organizations and develop strategies to address these risks. In 2018 I launched Boost Health in effort help individuals and business find their wellness balance. It has been a wonderful experiences working with clients in Hong Kong and now back in the US. I sincerely enjoy training. I find it to be amazingly fun, and addictive, to test the human body, observe how it adapts, and apply the learning to the next adventure. I also relish the time we have being active as a family. Our son Camden (9 years old) and daughter Cadence (7 years old) are quite sprightly and have a great time engaging in sport and fitness. It appears we have been successful in fostering virtues of fitness with them. Now if we could just make some progress with the vegetable intake that would be amazing! I hope you will join me on this journey to find wellness balance. Together let's be open minded, try new concepts, learn what works best for us as individuals, and share knowledge.
